Your strategies
The Strategies tab holds every strategy you can launch a bot with: the four built-ins, and up to 20 of your own. It sits in the top bar, between Bots and Wallet. On a phone, open it from the menu under your picture, or from Manage above a coin's strategies.
On coins' pages
A coin's page offers 4 strategies at most: the ones switched on here (On coin pages). At first, they're the four built-ins. To offer one of your own, switch a built-in off first. At least one stays on.
On the coin's page, DCA Scalper comes first, framed and marked Recommended, while it's on, customized or not. Then come your own strategies, oldest first, then the other built-ins. The page opens on the first one.
The built-ins
DCA Scalper, Grid Scalper, Dip Sniper and Momentum Rider are built for each coin. Their numbers come from the coin's volatility and measured costs, at the risk level you pick. See Strategies.
Customize turns a built-in into fixed settings of your own. The editor opens on its values for a typical coin at Balanced. Once saved, the built-in shows Customized and runs these settings on every coin, without a risk level. Back to defaults makes it built for each coin again.
Make your own
Press New strategy, or Duplicate on any strategy to start from its settings.
- Name: up to 32 characters, different from your other strategies and from the built-ins.
- Type: Scalper (an entry, then take-profit, stop-loss, trailing, safety buys…) or Grid (a ladder of buy and sell steps). Switching type starts again from DCA Scalper's or Grid Scalper's values.
- Every setting of that type, the same ones as under Customize on a coin's page. See Custom settings.
A saved strategy has to fit any coin and any budget, so three settings are relative:
| Setting | In a saved strategy |
|---|---|
| Range low, range high (Grid) | In % under and over the coin's price when the bot launches. |
| First order (Scalper) | In % of the budget. The first order and every safety buy must fit in it together. |
| Max slippage | Left empty, it's set from each pool's depth, as the built-ins do (1% to 2.5%). Or type a fixed value. |
The editor checks your settings as a launch would, and says which one is wrong. It also warns when a take-profit, a trailing start or a grid step sits under what Tradyn's fee alone takes on a buy plus a sale (2% at the standard 1% fee). A coin's page warns against the coin's measured costs too.
Edit changes one of your strategies. Delete removes it, and coins' pages stop offering it.
Save from a coin's page
Under The plan, Customize shows every setting of the plan on screen. Change what you like and watch the replay follow, then:
- Save as a new strategy: type its name. If fewer than four strategies are on, coins' pages offer it at once and the page moves to it. Otherwise, switch it on in this tab.
- Save to …: the strategy the plan came from takes these settings. A built-in becomes Customized.
The range and the orders are saved relative to the coin's price and your budget at that moment. A slippage left as the plan set it stays automatic.
Launch from your strategy
Pick it on a coin's page. The plan places its settings around the coin's price and sizes them on your budget. There's no risk level to choose: its settings are fixed. Everything else works as with a built-in:
- The coin's costs are measured, and the replay runs your settings on the coin's past prices.
- The checks before a real bot starts still apply: slippage of 10% at most, and the cost of a buy and a sale at the bot's largest order. See Launch a bot.
- Bots never take a profit under break-even, whatever a strategy's targets say. See Exits and protections.
The bot keeps the settings it launched with, and shows the strategy's name. Editing or deleting a strategy never changes a bot that's already running.
